1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
- Therapsy: The brand owned by Francesca Boccalari, which provides psychological and psychiatric services through qualified professionals.
- User/Client: Any individual accessing the Therapsy website or using its services.
- Therapist: A psychologist, psychotherapist, or psychiatrist registered with the Italian professional board and affiliated with Therapsy.
- Services: The provision of individual and couples psychotherapy sessions, psychodiagnostic evaluations, and psychiatric consultations, as well as access to information provided through the Therapsy platform.
2. Processing of Personal Data
2.1. Role of Therapsy and Therapists in Data Processing
Therapsy is the data controller for all personal data collected through the website, contact forms, and appointment management.
Affiliated therapists are independent data controllers for all health-related data collected during sessions.
Therapsy does not have access to or store health data.
2.2. Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of personal data is based on the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): To provide the requested services, including managing appointments and communications with therapists.
- Legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): To comply with tax and accounting obligations related to payments and invoicing.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): To manage platform security and prevent abuse.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): For sending promotional communications and transferring data outside the EU when necessary.
2.3. Data Collected
Therapsy collects and processes only the personal data strictly necessary to provide its services, including:
- Identification data (name, surname, email, phone number).
- Information provided by the user in the contact form for therapist matching (personal needs, spoken language, preferred city).
- Payment data, managed through secure payment service providers.
- Technical browsing data on the website (IP address, data collected through cookies).
2.4. Cookies and Tracking Tools
The Therapsy website uses tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) to analyze site usage and improve services.
Users can modify their cookie preferences at any time via the consent management banner.

2.5. Data Transfers Outside the EU
Therapsy stores personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA). However, some technical data (e.g., IP address, cookies) may be processed by service providers located outside the EU, including:
- Google LLC (USA) – Google Analytics and tracking services
- Meta Platforms Inc. (USA) – Facebook Pixel for marketing and analytics
In these cases, Therapsy ensures that data transfers comply with the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission or other appropriate safeguards.
3. Appointment Scheduling
- The initial assessment can only be requested through the Therapsy website.
- After therapist assignment, all appointment bookings must be managed exclusively through Therapsy’s platforms and tools.
4. Payments and Invoicing
- Therapsy collects payments directly from users and processes therapist payments.
- The service fees are set by Therapsy and communicated to the user before confirming the booking.
- The user will receive an invoice after each session or once per month, depending on the agreed-upon method.
In case of payment errors (e.g., duplicate charge), the user can request a refund by emailing info@therapsy.it within 7 days of the transaction, attaching the receipt.
The refund will be processed within 14 business days, using the original payment method.
5. Security and Data Breach Management
Therapsy implements technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data.
In the event of a personal data breach (Data Breach), Therapsy will promptly notify:
- Affected users, specifying the nature of the breach and the corrective actions taken.
- The Data Protection Authority, if required by GDPR.
Users can report suspected data breaches by emailing info@therapsy.it.
6. Account Closure and Data Deletion
- If a user closes their account or does not use the services for more than 6 months, Therapsy will delete their personal data, except for legally required retention.
- Payment and invoicing data will be retained for 10 years in compliance with tax regulations.
7. Dispute Resolution
- In case of a dispute between the user and Therapsy, the parties agree to attempt an amicable resolution within 30 days.
- If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Italian courts.
8. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions
Therapsy reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time.
Updated versions will be published on the website, and continued use of the services will constitute implicit acceptance of the changes.
