Dr. Alexandra Kraslavski is an English, Italian and Hebrew-speaking psychologist in Milan. She is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, and she receives patients in person in Milan and works online with people living elsewhere in Italy and abroad, in Hebrew, English and Italian, with people from 16 years old onwards.
She has studied and trained in London, Tel Aviv and Milan, and lived for years in London, where she also worked within the university, in roles that included success coach and student support programmes. Alongside English, she has close ties with Spanish culture, having lived in Spain for a period, and with French, Dutch and Vietnamese contexts. For someone building a life in a language that is not their first, that experience is not a line on a CV: it is the difference between being understood and being translated.
She graduated with honours in Clinical Psychology from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where she published her research thesis on a case-control study investigating the mechanisms underlying addictive behaviours. She trained within the Psychiatry Department for Alcoholism and drug addiction, working with people affected by behavioural addictions and substance abuse.
She also worked in the Bariatric Surgery department at ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco in Milan, with people living with obesity and clinical overweight, and co-authored scientific research on emotional regulation in pathological eating behaviour in bariatric patients. She is an EMDR therapist and trained in CBT-E for eating disorders and obesity, with a specialisation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Her clinical practice is built on continuous training, which lets her work with innovative and scientifically validated protocols. She believes the therapist-patient relationship is a crucial part of the healing process, not a backdrop to it.
Alexandra Kraslavski also collaborates with Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi at Istituto Palazzolo as a neuropsychologist, carrying out neuropsychological interventions for people with dementia, cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative disorders.
Fewer than 1 in 100 therapists joins the Therapsy team. Dr. Kraslavski was personally vetted by our Clinical Director, Dr. Francesca A. Boccalari, on three non-negotiable criteria: she shares our values, she speaks at least one language beyond Italian, and she has a physical practice in Milan where you can meet in person, not only online.
Alexandra Kraslavski does not work alone. She takes part in Therapsy’s internal clinical supervision, a standing group where therapists bring their most demanding cases, train together and ask for help when a situation calls for it. Every therapist in the network, Case Managers included, can turn to our Clinical Director for clinical questions and further training, and Therapsy runs regular professional training with senior therapists and external trainers. Scheduling, invoicing, payments and the rest of the paperwork are handled by Therapsy, so that her time with you stays clinical work and nothing else. On your side, the same platform gives you one place to see your sessions, invoices, payments and documents.
At Therapsy you do not have to pick your therapist from a list: you start by speaking with Dr. Francesca Boccalari, our Clinical Director, who listens to what you are going through and matches you with the therapist she believes is right for you: Alexandra Kraslavski, or one of her colleagues. Then you have a free introductory call with that therapist, and only after that do you decide whether to start.
And if the fit turns out not to be right, you are not back at square one. Dr. Boccalari and her team find you another therapist inside Therapsy, at no cost, without you having to tell your story from the beginning. Choosing a therapist while you are struggling, in a language that is not your own, is a lot to ask of a person. That is the part we take on.
Dr. Alexandra Kraslavski is registered with the Italian Order of Psychologists and works as part of the Therapsy network of licensed multilingual therapists.
Yes. Dr. Alexandra Kraslavski works in Hebrew, as well as in English and Italian, and part of her training took place in Tel Aviv. Sessions can be held entirely in Hebrew, from the first introductory call onwards.
Yes. English is not a second language she merely manages in, it is one she lived and worked in: several years in London, part of them inside a university supporting students. A course of therapy can run entirely in English, and she also works in Italian and in Hebrew. She sees people in person in Milan and online everywhere else.
Yes, and it is one of the areas she knows best clinically. She is trained in CBT-E, the enhanced cognitive behavioural protocol developed specifically for eating disorders, and has worked inside a hospital bariatric surgery team, where the psychological side of weight is assessed before and after an operation. She has also published research on emotional regulation in disordered eating.
Yes, with both substance and behavioural addictions. Her academic research looked at what drives addictive behaviour rather than at the substance itself, and she trained clinically inside a hospital psychiatry service dedicated to alcohol and drug dependence. That combination matters in the room: addiction is rarely treated on its own, but alongside what sits underneath it.
Yes, and she also works in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. EMDR is used for memories that stay charged long after the event itself has passed, and in practice it is usually combined with CBT rather than used alone. She keeps her training current, which is what allows newer validated protocols to reach the room.
Through the form on this page. Dr. Francesca Boccalari, our Clinical Director, reads what you have written and decides who is the right person for it, which may be Dr. Kraslavski or a colleague with a closer fit. You then meet that therapist on a free introductory call before committing to anything. If it turns out not to be the right fit, we find you someone else inside Therapsy, at no cost.
